DID JESUS EXIST AND WAS HE PERFECT? PART 2

DID JESUS EXIST AND WAS HE PERFECT?
PART 2

Sakkie Parsons

In my previous writing in these series about this question that was asked to me, I have shown from outside Biblical proof that Jesus certainly lived and was crucified.

In this writing I would like to briefly share with you about our Lord’s divinity – for if He was not God that became flesh, He cannot be our Lord and Saviour.

Please keep in mind that the little evidence that I share with you comes out of many that I could have used to show you that our Lord Jesus is God Almighty and is absolutely perfect and holy.

That this has been wrote to us by people that have experienced it together and that they all for the sake of that which they proclaimed, kept on proclaiming it until their death – even if almost all of them were brutally tortured and murdered for their believe which they proclaimed – and not one of them ever changed or denied their proclamation or contradicted each other.

One of the most striking verdicts to me personally about Jesus’ Godliness that comes to us from the Word of God is:

JOHN 1:1-5
1  In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
2  He was in the beginning with God.
3  All things were made through him, and without him was not any thing made that was made.
4  In him was life, and the life was the light of men.
5  The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.

14 And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.
Then there were those times – of which I only share one with you – when the Jews wanted to stone Jesus, about these words that Jesus said:

JOHN 10:30 I and the Father are one."
JOHN 10:31 The Jews picked up stones again to stone him.

The reason why they wanted to stone Jesus was because Jesus said that He is God and to say that, in their belief, was blasphemy. The Mosaic Law, that was the foundation of their faith stated that such a person should be stoned.

LEV 24:16 Whoever blasphemes the name of the LORD shall surely be put to death. All the congregation shall stone him. The sojourner as well as the native, when he blasphemes the Name, shall be put to death.

Not only did Jesus say that He is God – after all the miracles that He did, Jesus also reveals to the world that even death has no power over Him:

LUKE 24:1-9
1  But on the first day of the week, at early dawn, they went to the tomb, taking the spices they had prepared.
2  And they found the stone rolled away from the tomb,
3  but when they went in they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus.
4  While they were perplexed about this, behold, two men stood by them in dazzling apparel.
5  And as they were frightened and bowed their faces to the ground, the men said to them, "Why do you seek the living among the dead?
6  He is not here, but has risen. Remember how he told you, while he was still in Galilee,
7  that the Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men and be crucified and on the third day rise."
8  And they remembered his words,
9  and returning from the tomb they told all these things to the eleven and to all the rest.

Not only did Jesus’ disciples and many of His followers saw Him again after His resurrection and talked with Him, but they also experienced His ascension into Heaven.

ACTS 1:9-11
9  And when he had said these things, as they were looking on, he was lifted up, and a cloud took him out of their sight.
10  And while they were gazing into heaven as he went, behold, two men stood by them in white robes,
11  and said, "Men of Galilee, why do you stand looking into heaven? This Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will come in the same way as you saw him go into heaven."

Just for interest sake – I have sometimes wondered if the two men that spoke to Jesus’ followers with His ascension, was the same two men that spoke to His followers at the tomb.

The Christian religion is the only religion in the world where God, in His great love, first reached out to man and not the other way around.

GAL 4:4 But when the fullness of time had come, God sent forth his Son, born of woman, born under the law,
GAL 4:5 to redeem those who were under the law, so that we might receive adoption as sons.

You see – only a perfect sacrifice once and for all, could make you and me acceptable to God:

2 COR 5:21 For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.

Listen to what Peter testifies about our Lord and Saviour – Peter that deemed himself not worthy to be crucified in the same way as His Lord – and then was crucified upside down because he proclaimed this Religion of Jesus and was willing to die because for it.

2 PET 1:1 Simeon Peter, a servant and apostle of Jesus Christ, To those who have obtained a faith of equal standing with ours by the righteousness of our God and Savior Jesus Christ:

After you have read these series that I have written out of God’s Word, the question is:

What do we – you and me –do with our lives that Jesus Christ, GOD that became flesh, paid the price for our sin on the cross of Calvary?

You see –
We cannot ignore Him.
We cannot be neutral towards Him.
For He Himself says:

MAT 12:30 Whoever is not with me is against me, and whoever does not gather with me scatters.

As I understand the Word – these are the words from God to man – there are only two groups of people in the world concerning God:

Those people who take Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour – and those people who do not.

ACTS 4:12  And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved."

Please take note –
If you have not yet accepted Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Saviour, you have now heard of Jesus – God that became flesh.
The gospel of Jesus comes to you now through God’s loving grace.

What are you doing with Jesus – God that became flesh – God, now standing at the door of your heart and knocks?

Please take Jesus into your heart this moment and give your life to Him and you will be saved.  This means that instead of everlasting hell in your afterlife, you will be given an indescribable wonderful eternal life as the child of the most High God – Jesus Christ.

REV 3:20 Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat with him, and he with me.

Greetings,
Sakkie
