LOOK WITH YOUR HEART

LOOK WITH YOUR HEART

Sakkie Parsons

Translated from the Afrikaans Version: Kyk met jou hart

I had a discussion with someone, that people should look at one another with our hearts and not our eyes. Then this person send me the following beautiful email:

A blind woman, Joan Brock, said the following words:

People say the following:  "The eyes are the window to the soul ".
But if you ask me..:  True vision comes from the heart.  Courage, Friendship, Faith and Love cannot be seen, but they are éverything…

This is beautiful!  You can’t see courage, friendship, faith and love–but it’s everything in our lives, and this our Father has given to us in our hearts.

True vision comes from the heart.

Just look at how beautifully the Word of God reveals it to us:

GAL 5:22: “But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,”
GAL 5:23: “gentleness, and self-control.  There is no law against these things!”

These are all the things you can’t see with your eyes.

Many of these things can falsely deceive the eyes but ultimately the following matters according to Jesus:

MAT 12:34: “…For whatever is in your heart determines what you say.”
MAT12:35: “A good person produces good things from the treasury of a good heart, and an evil person produces evil things from the treasury of an evil heart.”

Of course, it is also there where our Lord sees everything and cannot be deceived by appearances.

Jesus also said on occasion:

MAT 15:8: “These people honour me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me.”

To return to the email which was sent to me:

How wonderful is it not as a Christian, not to have to put on our reading spectacles when we look at other people, but rather to put on our "Heart spectacles."

If you and I can make an effort to look at others with our hearts, then we will look at people the same way that our Lord look at us, and we also have the following wonderful certain knowledge:

PHI 4:7: “Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand.  His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.”

So, my friend.  Make sure to keep your "Heart Spectacle" lenses clean and pure and don’t exchange it for any other type of spectacles.  Because the Word of God says that you will see God:

MAT 5:8: “God blesses those whose hearts are pure, for they will see God.”

I summarize what I have shared with you with the following words from the Word of God:

COL 3: 14: “Above all, clothe yourselves with love, which binds us all together in perfect harmony.”

An older version translation this great truth as follow:

COL 3: 14: “And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness.”

Greetings,
Sakkie
