DON’T LET SATAN PLAY WITH YOU LIKE WITH A FISH ON A HOOK
Do not associate with fortune-telling, conjuring magic, interpretation of omens, sorcery, a spirit that divines, or that consult the dead.

Someone wrote to me:
I read in the Word that the magicians also turned the water into blood, and made frogs appear, but they couldn’t do the rest.
How were the sorcerers so powerful to make those 2 plagues happen?
It is mentioned 3 times where Pharaoh’s magicians were able to do what Moses was able to do through the power of our Lord and I now share with you the two cases that is mentioned in the letter to me:
EXODUS 7:19-22
19Then the LORD said to Moses, “Say to Aaron, ‘Take your staff and stretch out your hand over the waters of Egypt, over their rivers, over their streams, over their pools, and over all their reservoirs of water, so that they may become blood; and there shall be blood throughout all the land of Egypt, in containers both of wood and of stone.’”
20So Moses and Aaron did as the LORD commanded; Aaron lifted up the staff and struck the waters in the Nile, in the sight of Pharaoh and in the sight of his servants, and all the water that was in the Nile was turned into blood. 21The fish in the Nile died, and the river became foul smelling, and the Egyptians could not drink its water, and there was blood throughout all the land of Egypt. 22But the magicians of Egypt did the same by their secret arts and enchantments; so Pharaoh’s heart was hardened, and he did not listen to Moses and Aaron, just as the LORD had said.
EXODUS 8:5-7
5Then the LORD said to Moses, “Say to Aaron, ‘Stretch out your hand with your staff over the rivers, over the streams and canals, over the pools [among the reeds], and make frogs come up on the land of Egypt.’” 6So Aaron stretched out his hand [with his staff] over the waters of Egypt, and the frogs came up and covered the land of Egypt. 7But the magicians (soothsayer-priests) did the same thing with their secret arts and enchantments, and brought up [more] frogs on the land of Egypt.
I will come back to Pharaoh’s magicians later.
I would like to start now by first mentioning that there is a significant difference between con artists and magicians as we understand these, according to the Word, evil people – but I will now only focus on those who are evil people according to the Word, who are inspired and determined by the devil.
They get what they do from demonic forces, and these demonic forces are of course present around us all the time and are constantly looking for an opportunity to influence a person – and if you let him in on these things, he has you like a fish on the hook, with the difference – Then he plays with you the whole time and never take the hook out.
EFE 6:12 12For our struggle is not against flesh and blood [contending only with physical opponents], but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this [present] darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly (supernatural) places.
EFE 6:13 13Therefore, put on the complete armor of God, so that you will be able to [successfully] resist and stand your ground in the evil day [of danger], and having done everything [that the crisis demands], to stand firm [in your place, fully prepared, immovable, victorious].
You yourself will have to do something about that ‘hook’ with which he plays with you.
About people who allow these evil forces that is around us, to work through them, – and therefore also Pharaoh’s magicians – we read in the Word:
9The coming of the [Antichrist, the lawless] one is through the activity of Satan, [attended] with great power [all kinds of counterfeit miracles] and [deceptive] signs and false wonders [all of them lies], 10and by unlimited seduction to evil and with all the deception of wickedness for those who are perishing, because they did not welcome the love of the truth [of the gospel] so as to be saved [they were spiritually blind, and rejected the truth that would have saved them]. 11Because of this God will send upon them a misleading influence, [an activity of error and deception] so they will believe the lie, 12in order that all may be judged and condemned who did not believe the truth [about their sin, and the need for salvation through Christ], but instead took pleasure in unrighteousness.
Have you seen as with the magicians of Pharaoh, if you do not want to believe and trust the God who created the universe and for you – well, then our Lord allow you to make your choice, which then – according to you own choice – lead you to hell !
I repeat 2 THES 2:9-12 from the New Living Translation and in this, your answer is again very clearly who is behind Pharaoh’s magicians:
9 This man will come to do the work of Satan with counterfeit power and signs and miracles.
10 He will use every kind of evil deception to fool those on their way to destruction, because they refuse to love and accept the truth that would save them.
11 So God will cause them to be greatly deceived, and they will believe these lies.
12 Then they will be condemned for enjoying evil rather than believing the truth.
Next, I also just want to point out that our Lord is not, to put it this way, a fun spoiler. Our Lord will never want to withhold anything from us if it is for our benefit. He loves us too much for that. So deep is His love for us, that He sacrificed His only Son so that we can make the choice to live with Him forever:
JOHN 3:16-18
16“For God so [greatly] loved and dearly prized the world, that He [even] gave His [One and] only begotten Son, so that whoever believes and trusts in Him [as Savior] shall not perish, but have eternal life. 17For God did not send the Son into the world to judge and condemn the world [that is, to initiate the final judgment of the world], but that the world might be saved through Him. 18Whoever believes and has decided to trust in Him [as personal Savior and Lord] is not judged [for this one, there is no judgment, no rejection, no condemnation]; but the one who does not believe [and has decided to reject Him as personal Savior and Lord] is judged already [that one has been convicted and sentenced], because he has not believed and trusted in the name of the [One and] only begotten Son of God [the One who is truly unique, the only One of His kind, the One who alone can save him].
* So, if our Lord forbid you something, you must know that it is fatal – like threatening fatal to your eternal life.
DEUT 18:10-12
10There shall not be found among you anyone who makes his son or daughter pass through the fire [as a sacrifice], one who uses divination and fortune-telling, one who practices witchcraft, or one who interprets omens, or a sorcerer, 11or one who casts a charm or spell, or a medium, or a spiritist, or a necromancer [who seeks the dead].
12For everyone who does these things is utterly repulsive to the LORD; and because of these detestable practices the LORD your God is driving them out before you.
Next, I share with you another time when Pharaoh’s magicians were able to do what Moses was able to do through our Lord:
EXODUS 7:10-12
10So Moses and Aaron came to Pharaoh, and did just as the LORD had commanded; Aaron threw down his staff before Pharaoh and his servants, and it became a serpent. 11Then Pharaoh called for the wise men [skilled in magic and omens] and the sorcerers [skilled in witchcraft], and they also, these magicians (soothsayer-priests) of Egypt, did the same with their secret arts and enchantments. 12For every man threw down his staff and they turned into serpents; but Aaron’s staff swallowed up their staffs.
You see –
There Aaron’s snake was surrounded by all these other snakes, and then only Aaron’s snake remained deliciously saturated.
Those who are on GOD’s side always win – and it doesn’t matter how hopelessly lost the circumstances may be.
For example:
You cannot find a more hopeless sight, (seen from a human eye), than someone nailed to a cross – but praise the name of our Lord!
There Jesus hang on a cross and He conquers !
JHN 19:30
30When Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, “It is finished!” And He bowed His head and [voluntarily] gave up His spirit.
Yes, on that Sunday, our Lord walked out of the tomb – victorious:
MATTHEW 28:1-6
Jesus Is Risen!
1Now after the Sabbath, near dawn of the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went to look at the tomb. 2And a great earthquake had occurred, for an angel of the Lord descended from heaven and came and rolled away the stone [from the opening of the tomb], and sat on it. 3The angel’s appearance was like lightning, and his clothes were as white as snow. 4The guards shook, paralyzed with fear [at the sight] of him and became like dead men [pale and immobile]. 5But the angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid; for I know that you are looking for Jesus who has been crucified. 6He is not here, for He has risen, just as He said [He would]. Come! See the place where He was lying.
Remember that HE said:
JOHN 16:33
33“I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have [perfect] peace. In the world you have tribulation and distress and suffering, but be courageous [be confident, be undaunted, be filled with joy]; I have overcome the world.” [My conquest is accomplished, My victory abiding.]
Therefore, let you and I stay away from these star fortune tellers, witchcraft, spirit summoners and sorcerer, spells, a medium or a spiritist or those who seeks the dead . Because our Lord say we must stay away from that garbage.
*If we don’t, we will fall far and hard. Into and down to the bottom of the pit of hell.
We don’t need that crap in our lives because:
ROMANS 8:37-39
37Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors (If I keep my eyes on Jesus)
and gain an overwhelming victory through Him who loved us [so much that He died for us]. 38For I am convinced [and continue to be convinced—beyond any doubt] that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present and threatening, nor things to come, nor powers, 39nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the [unlimited] love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Finally, I share with you another great truth concerning all these fortune tellers, witchery, speaking to dead, ‘calling up spirits’ rubbish that you should not tolerate in your life:
1JOHN 4:4-5
4Little children (believers, dear ones), you are of God and you belong to Him and have [already] overcome them [the agents of the antichrist]; because He who is in you is greater than he (Satan) who is in the world [of sinful mankind].
5They [who teach twisted doctrine] are of the world and belong to it; therefore they speak from the [viewpoint of the] world [with its immoral freedom and baseless theories—demanding compliance with their opinions and ridiculing the values of the upright], and the [gullible one of the] world listens closely and pays attention to them.
So then, you and I keep our eyes on Jesus all the time and make sure that we don’t become one of satan’s fish on a hook, with which he plays and thus entertain himself and his evil angels.
