DO MY PRAYERS REACH GOD?
Sakkie Parsons
Someone spoke to me and said that when she prays, it feels as if her prayers are only reach the ceiling.
Of course, this is a lie from hell. You see, even if you tried, you couldn’t think of anything related to God that only reaches the ceiling.
I will limit myself to just two passages from the Bible in what I say now.
I said that it is impossible for me to even think of something that God is unaware of, let alone speak directly to Him.
Psalm 139:2 (AMP)
You know when I sit down and when I rise up [my entire life, everything I do]; You understand my thought from afar.
He knows my thoughts completely. In other words, He knows everything that goes on in my mind – everything I think. Just see how well God knows my thoughts:
Psalm 139:4 (AMP)
Even before there is a word on my tongue [still unspoken], Behold, O Lord, You know it all.
God knows what I am going to say even before I wanted to say it. Even before I have thought about saying it.
Like David, this is too wonderful for me to comprehend.
Psalm 139:6 (AMP)
[Such] knowledge is too wonderful for me; It is too high [above me], I cannot understand it.
Not only does He listen to me, but He comes to me, to be with me when I want to speak with Him, and nothing can stop Him. Least of all a ceiling or anything made by man.
Psalm 139:8-12 (AMP)
8 If I ascend to heaven, You are there; If I make my bed in Sheol (the nether world, the place of the dead), behold, You are there.
9 If I take the wings of the dawn, If I dwell in the remotest part of the sea,
10 Even there Your hand will lead me, And Your right hand will take hold of me.
11 If I say, “Surely the darkness will cover me, And the night will be the only light around me,”
12 Even the darkness is not dark to You and conceals nothing from You, But the night shines as bright as the day; Darkness and light are alike to You.
You see, the devil wants to render your prayer powerless—and the easiest way for him to do that is to make you doubt the power of your prayer. So, if he can make you think that your prayers are just hitting the ceiling, then he has, as they say, hit a bullseye.
You see, he knows that you must believe before anything can happen. He knows very well that it is written:
Hebrews 11:1-3 (AMP)
1 Now faith is the assurance (title deed, confirmation) of things hoped for (divinely guaranteed), and the evidence of things not seen [the conviction of their reality—faith comprehends as fact what cannot be experienced by the physical senses].
2 For by this [kind of faith] the men of old gained [divine] approval.
3 By faith [that is, with an inherent trust and enduring confidence in the power, wisdom, and goodness of God] we understand that the worlds (universe, ages) were framed and created [formed, put in order, and equipped for their intended purpose] by the word of God, so that what is seen was not made out of things which are visible.
So, the next time he tells you that your prayers are just hitting the ceiling, rebuke him in the Name of Jesus Christ.
Then, speak freely with your Father and be assured that He listens with full attention to every word you say.
Greetings,
Sakkie
