THE KEY JESUS HAS GIVEN TO PETER

It was one day, just after my wife was searching for car keys for quite some time, I read in the Bible of a Key.
I now want to share with you what then came to my mind. The section I read was the following:
MAT 16:19 “I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven."
I want to share with you now the thought that our Lord has given me.
Peter was a disciple of Jesus and every person who accepts Jesus as his or her Saviour and Redeemer is a disciple of Jesus.
So – you and I have that Key too. Let's take a quick look at the Key:
ACTS 4:12 “And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved."
No other key can open the door to Heaven or a happy life for you and me:
JHN 14:6 "Jesus said to him, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. ”
Jesus then later told His disciples to hand out this Key to the people of the world:
MAT 28:18 “ And Jesus came and said to them, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.
MAT 28:19 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
Now notice how Peter shares this Key that was given to him:
ACTS 2:38 And Peter said to them, "Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.”
The key is: To do everything in the Name of Jesus:
COL 3:17 " And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him. “
Of course, we must do so in faith.
There is just no other key to true happiness. Not in this life and also not in the future life.
So many people grab the wrong key to unlock the door to a happy life.
People try drugs. People try affairs. People try dishonest ways of making money and so I can go on and on, the list is almost endless.
Of course Jesus saw this and that is why He says to you and to me:
JHN 14:27 ”Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.”
You see, the key that the world offers you and me to true happiness and peace is an imitation and therefore of course a lie from hell.
Only Jesus and His peace bring true happiness and peace into you and my heart:
PHIL 4:7 “And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
I conclude with what a crowd one day testified of Jesus and it was not just an ordinary crowd:
LUKE 2:10 -14
10 And the angel said to them, "Fear not, for behold, I bring you good news of a great joy that will be for all the people.
11 For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.
12 And this will be a sign for you: you will find a baby wrapped in swaddling cloths and lying in a manger."
13 And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying,
14 "Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace among those with whom he is pleased!"
The Key that unlocks the door to eternal life and all true happiness and peace for you and me, is the Name of my God and Saviour; JESUS CHRIST:
MAT 1:21-23
21 She will bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins."
22 All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had spoken by the prophet:
23 "Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and they shall call his name Immanuel" (which means, God with us).JHN 14:6 Jesus said to him, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
