One evening I was sitting pondering what a person had said to me on a previous occasion.
He basically said, that it did not matter what he did, as his path on earth was already pre-determined.
It is true that a wonderful master plan has been created by our Lord for us.
PSM 139:16 Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.
PSM 139:17 How precious to me are your thoughts, God! How vast is the sum of them!
You see, my understanding of this is as follows:
We are made in God’s image and one of God’s characteristics, is that God has a mind of His own.
A person has that characteristic as well and even though God has created a wonderful master plan for me, God respects my will and says to me, that I must follow my own conscience.
DEUT 30:19 This day I call the heavens and the earth as witnesses against you that I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live.
On occasion Jesus stated it the following way:
MAT 7:13 “Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it.
MAT 7:14 But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.”
I do realise that I am going off track but I am doing this because it could truly make a difference between life and death.
I must absolutely know, that any choice/decision I make, which does not have, as a starting point, the acceptance of Jesus as my Lord and Saviour, the final destination will be hell, because there is only one path to Heaven.
While we are living in times of compromising and lowering of standards to accommodate other people’s views – we will do very well if we will remember:
JOHN 14:6 Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”
For any person who wants to say that we all serve the same God, I want to say, that is very nice, yes, even devout but unfortunately it is misleading, actually a false statement, because:
JOHN 14:6 KJV Translation:
Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
If Jesus said that He is the only true way to eternal life, then you must know, every other path will end in hell.
JOHN 3:18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son.
PRO 14:12 There is a way that appears to be right, but in the end it leads to death.
The KJV Translation reads as follows:
PRO14:12 There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.
