MY GOD IN WHOM I TRUST

What you are about to read is something that a very dear friend of mine sent me when I was going through a difficult time in my life and it encouraged and strengthened me and I believe it will do the same for you:

I want to encourage you through my favourite Bible verse, but from the English translation and I have included the footnotes, from the bottom of the page, that apply to the verse:

ROMANS 8:28 “And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God to those who are called according to His purpose.”

Footnotes:  Even in hardship and suffering, even in bitter disappointments, even when wrongly treated, Christians can know that God will work amidst such situations to fulfil His good purpose in His children.  The situation may or may not be directly changed by God, but even if situations stay difficult God guarantees ultimate good results, including maturation of character to those who are called.

PSALM 62:5-7  “My soul, wait silently for God alone, for my expectation is from Him.  He only is my rock and my salvation;  He is my defence;  I shall not be moved.  In God is my salvation and my glory;  The rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in God.”

I believe our Lord is busy with His plan for you and He knows what the best is for you at each stage.  He has also entrusted you with this extremely difficult circumstance; that you will allow HIM to resolve it for you.  At all times you just do your best which will be recorded in the Books that one day will be opened. Now you must do as written in Psalm 62 and tell your soul to wait patiently for God to sort out all, so that in the end it will be to the benefit of you and your loved ones.  How terribly ridiculous these words sound to someone who doesn’t know our Lord.
But for us who love our Lord, we know HE is our FATHER – our PA-PA on whom we can trust!

Listen to this wonderful scripture:

1 JOHN 3:1  “What marvellous love the Father has extended to us!  Just look at it – we’re called children of GOD!  That’s who we really are.”

When you go through troubling times you are so vulnerable.  More likely than not, you will be talked about in a bad way.  They falsely testified against JESUS (Mark 14:57), saying that HE was a drunkard, a glutton who visited with sinners (Luke 7:34), someone who blasphemes (Luke 5:21), they spat on Him and with a reed they hit the crown of thorns on His head (Mark 15:17-20).  While He bore the extreme pain on the cross, they ridiculed His Name and tormented/teased Him that if He could, get down (Mark 15:29-30).
He suffered this for us so that our sins could be forgiven and that through Him we could attain eternal life full of joy and could receive salvation so that we never again have to experience suffering, grief and vulnerability (Revelation 21:2-7).

Now we must just believe and hold fast to JESUS – HE is our Power and Strength!  Our GOD in whom we believe and trust!

PSALM 91:2  I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.”

Our Lord will strengthen and help you through your life on your way to Him.  You are not alone – our LORD is with you to take a hold of your tears, to comfort you through His Word and we have the wonderful expectation of our future with Him.

Let's pray for each other with compassion and Jesus' love in our hearts, while we remember, Jesus told us in advance:

JHN 16:33 I have told you all this so you may have peace in Me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. (and then this wonderful comfort) But take heart, because I have overcome the world.

Then also remember if you read this – it is God in human form who tell us this – and God is not a human that He would lie:

JHN 14:27 " I am leaving you a gift – peace of mind and heart.  And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give.  So don't be troubled or afraid."

Take that peace today and make it yours.

Greetings,
Sakkie
