When I read this saying that someone sent me, my thoughts went to several sections in the Word of God that I am now going to quote for you a few and then you will also see the connection:
JOHN 18:36 Jesus said, “My kingdom is not of this world. If it were, my servants would fight to prevent my arrest by the Jewish leaders. But now my kingdom is from another place.”
JOHN 15:18 “If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first.
JOHN 15:19 “If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but i have chosen you out of the world. That is why the world hates you.”
Naturally there are people who do not understand this, because you can only truly understand this if you have accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour.
If you have accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour, His Spirit will inhabit (communicate, comfort, leads) you and then only will your place in this world make complete sense.
JOHN 14:16 And I will ask the father, and he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever—
JOHN 14:17 The Spirit of Truth. The world cannot accept Him, because it neither sees Him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you.JOHN 16:13 But when He, the Spirit of Truth, comes, He will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on His own; He will speak only what He hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come.
JOHN 16:14 He will glorify Me because it is from Me that he will receive what he will make known to you.
Yes, then your birth, life and physical death will make sense. That is why our Lord explains it in this way in His Word:
1 COR 1:18-21
18 For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.
19 For it is written: “I will destroy the wisdom of the wise; The intelligence of the intelligent I will frustrate.”
20 Where is the wise person? Where is the teacher of the law? Where is the philosopher of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world?
21 For since in the wisdom of God the world through its wisdom did not know Him, God was pleased through the foolishness of what was preached to save those who believe.
Then you realise that in this life you are just a resident, a foreigner, a pilgrim on your way to your eternal Home:
1 PE 2:11 Dear friends, I urge you, as foreigners and exiles, to abstain from sinful desires, which wage war against your soul.
As a child of God you realise that you are on your road to your eternal destiny, where you will be a fellow heir with Christ of all creation and all the gloriousness that goes together with that:
ROM 8:16 The Spirit Himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children.
ROM 8:17 Now if we are children, then we are heirs—heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in His sufferings in order that we may also share in His glory.
So – fellow pilgrim, enter into this day with the knowledge:
There is a purpose why you are who you are, where you are and it is not just any kind of purpose, it is a Godly purpose.
Therefore tell yourself:
“I must remember that I am a spiritual being having an earthly experience.”
