FEARING THE END OF TIME

Lately there are a lot of talk about the end of time and the return of Jesus Christ.
There’s something I regard as incomprehensible, and it is that so many Christians are afraid of the end of time.
I believe, we should not be afraid of the end of time and of everything that will transpire. On the contrary, we should be anticipating it with eager.
Furthermore, I believe that we are not even going to experience it. I know there will be people who will have a different opinion from me here, but that's what I believe and I'm not afraid of the end of time, and all it will entail.
The Bible says this:
ROM 8:14 “For all who are led by the Spirit of God are children of God.”
ROM 8:15 “So you have not received a spirit that makes you fearful slaves. Instead you received God’s Spirit when He adopted you as His own children. Now we call Him, “Abba, Father.” (Abba is the Aramaic word for father)
.
Further, the Word of God says:
1 JOHN 4:15-18
15 “All who declare that Jesus is the Son of God have God living in them, and they live in God.”
16 “We know how much God loves us, and we have put our trust in His love. God is love, and all who live in love live in God, and God lives in them.”
17 “And as we live in God, our love grows more perfect. So we will not be afraid on the day of judgment, but we can face Him with confidence because we live like Jesus here in this world.”
18 “Such love has no fear, because perfect love expels all fear. If we are afraid, it is for fear of punishment, and this shows that we have not fully experienced His perfect love.”
If you read the next section, you might better understand why I believe, what I believe. In Luke 21 from verse 5, Jesus spoke about the times to come, but I only refer here to the parts that are relevant to this writing:
LUKE 21:25-28
25 "And there will be strange signs in the sun moon, and stars. And here on earth the nations will be in turmoil, perplexed by the roaring seas and strange tides.”
26 “People will be terrified at what they see coming upon the earth, for the powers in the heavens will be shaken.”
27 “Then everyone will see the Son of Man (this is Jesus Himself) coming on a cloud with power and great glory.”
28 “So when all these things begin to happen, stand and look up, for your salvation is near!”
I would like to show you three things from the above scriptures that you have just read:
ROM 8:15: “….Instead you received God’s Spirit when He adopted you as His own children. Now we call Him, “Abba, Father.”
Why should you fear what your Father is going to do?
1 JOHN 4:17: “And as we live in God, our love grows more perfect. So we will not be afraid on the day of judgment, but we can face Him with confidence because we live like Jesus here in this world.”
If you redeemed yourself in the correct way to our Lord and continue to walk in His ways, you can meet judgement day with great confidence. This is not what I say, that's what Jesus says:
LUKE 21:28: “So when all these things begin to happen, stand and look up, for your salvation is near!”
If someone were to ask me, how they can be certain that they don’t have to fear the last days and everything that goes with it, I will quote to them the following from God's Word without any complicated reasoning:
JOHN 3:16: “For this is how God loved the world: He gave His one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life.”
ROM 10:9: “If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.”
JOHN 3:17: “God sent His Son into the world not to judge the world, but to save the world through Him.”
JOHN 3:18: “There is no judgment against anyone who believes in Him. But anyone who does not believe in Him has already been judged for not believing in God’s one and only Son.”
I conclude with the following statement which Paul made:
2 TIM 1:7 "For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love and self-discipline. "
Enjoy this day and think about this: When you got up this morning, how wonderful – it was one day less until Jesus comes!
Greetings,
Sakkie
