GOD HAS INDEED A PRECIOUS INHERITANCE FOR HIS CHILDREN
Sakkie Parsons
Translated from Afrikaans: "God het inderdaad 'n kosbare erfporsie vir Sy kinders"
I want to begin this thought of the day by quoting the following wonderful promise from our Lord to you:
JOH 14:3 “And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also.”
It is when I live in my challenging daily circumstances and I look back to so many things of my past, that I can understand and experience what our Lord talks about when He says:
JOHN 14:27 “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.”
Yes then I remember with that great peace in my heart:
Whatever happens to me here on earth that from a human point of view I do not like – It will certainly come to an end and how wonderful to rest in His words:
ROM 8:28 And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.
Even if I have to wait until I enter the Heavenly gate. What does it matter? There is no comparison between this short life and that which awaits us in eternity!
Regarding this we read:
ROM 8:18 For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us.
REV 21:3-5
3 And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, "Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man. He will dwell with them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them as their God.
4 He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning nor crying nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away."
5 And he who was seated on the throne said, "Behold, I am making all things new." …
1COR 2:9 But, as it is written, "What no eye has seen, nor ear heard, nor the heart of man imagined, what God has prepared for those who love him"–
“What no eye has seen”:
Now think of the most beautiful thing you have ever seen.
Now try to imagine the most beautiful thing you are able to visualize for yourself and you have not even begun to come close to what you will see forever in all the immeasurable variations for as long or as many times as you want.
“What no ear has heard”:
Now think of the most beautiful things you have ever heard.
Think of how amazing the most beautiful thing you ever would like to hear would sound like and you have not even begun to come close to what you will hear forever in all the immeasurable variations for as long or as many times as you want.
“What never has come up in one’s heart”:
Now think of the best and most wonderful circumstances ever you would like to find yourself in and you have not even begun to come close to what you will experience forever in all the immeasurable variations for as long or as many times as you want.
I know I am just carried away but it is so wonderful to write and testify about this wonderful expectation!
I close with the following out of our Lord’s Word:
1PE 1:3-9
3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,
4 to an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven for you,
5 who by God's power are being guarded through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.
6 In this you rejoice, though now for a little while, if necessary, you have been grieved by various trials,
7 so that the tested genuineness of your faith–more precious than gold that perishes though it is tested by fire–may be found to result in praise and glory and honour at the revelation of Jesus Christ.
8 Though you have not seen Him, you love Him. Though you do not now see him, you believe in him and rejoice with joy that is inexpressible and filled with glory,
9 obtaining the outcome of your faith, the salvation of your souls.
Greetings,
Sakkie
