HOLD TIGHT TO YOUR FAITH

HOLD TIGHT TO YOUR FAITH

An extract from an interesting piece of history which I heard, reads as follows:

They told, it was during the time when the Romans ruled the world:

A general and his men were busy moving into/invading a certain area and was busy to overpower/conquer.  He had a map showing him where he was to go, most of the earth had not been mapped.
At a certain point in this he reached the end of the map.
He then sent the following message to Rome, containing the following message:
“We are marching off the map. Please send new instructions.”

So many times you and I come to a place in our lives where we move off the ‘known’ map of our lives on our road to our final destination.
We are now on unknown territory, sometimes we feel we do not know whether to go this way or that, but how blessed we are compared to the unbelievers around us!
Of those, the unbelieving world around us, we read:

JOH 10:25  Jesus answered, “I did tell you, but you do not believe. The works I do in my Father’s name testify about me,
JOH 10:26  but you do not believe because you are not my sheep.

How absolutely wonderful!
We do not have to know whether to go this way or that way.  Our Leader walks in front, leading and He knows exactly why, what and where to!

JOH 10:27  My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me.
JOH 10:28 I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them out of my hand.
JOH 10:29  My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all; no one can snatch them out of my Father’s hand.

How wonderful, wonderful, wonderful!
I just stay close to my Leader and keep my eyes firmly fixed on Him.

HEB 12:2  fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
HEB 12:3  Consider him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.

I know very well, that if I do not do this and allow other things to lead me, I stand in extreme danger of becoming lost:
That is why I continually remind myself and I want to encourage you to do likewise:

1TIM 1:19  holding on to faith and a good conscience, which some have rejected and so have suffered shipwreck with regard to the faith.

Greetings,

Sakkie
