IF IT SEEMS THAT GOD DOES NOTHING – PART 2

IF IT SEEMS THAT GOD DOES NOTHING – PART 2

Translated from the Afrikaans Version: As dit lyk of God niks doen nie – Deel 2

I sent you an e-mail, where I showed you, child of God, that God hears and always responds to you, although it doesn’t always seem that way to us.

Today I would like to point out something from that same history, so to further encourage you to remain strong and to always keep your eyes on Jesus.

John sat in jail and he was not a fool. He knew his situation didn’t look good and Jesus came within close proximity of him to do miracles, but Jesus left him in jail.
It is in my opinion only logical, since John was only human, to start doubting, if what he believed in and what he worked for, was the true way. That’s to say if it was a way at all, but John was not known as the greatest man ever born for nothing.
Remember what Jesus said about him?

MAT 11:11 "I tell you the truth, of all who have ever lived, none is greater than John the Baptist…”

Look what the great John did with his doubts.
He did the only thing a man can do when in doubt and when you want to find the right answer as well as peace. He took his doubts to Jesus.

MAT 11:2-3
2 “John the Baptist, who was in prison, heard about all the things the Messiah was doing.  So he sent his disciples to ask Jesus,”
3 “Are you the Messiah we’ve been expecting, or should we keep looking for someone else?”

You are human and your enemy is the god of darkness.
There will probably be times when you want to doubt if you are following the right path to get to heaven.
Do then what the great John did.
Take your doubts to Jesus.

I have something else I would like to share with you regarding this piece of history:
Jesus said that John was the greatest man ever born and then Jesus made another great statement thereafter:

MAT 11:11 "I tell you the truth, of all who have ever lived, none is greater than John the Baptist. Yet even the least person in the Kingdom of Heaven is greater than he is!”

I see it this way:
What makes you, little child of God, greater than John?
When John went to heaven, Jesus was still on His way to Golgotha.
With great love for you, Jesus went to get crucified on the cross and His blood flowed washing you so clean that you can walk through heaven's gates with confidence – but not only did His blood wash you clean, it gives your status, which is unmatched.

ROM 8:16 “For His Spirit joins with our spirit to affirm that we are God’s children.
ROM 8:17 “And since we are His children, we are His heirs. In fact, together with Christ we are heirs of God’s glory.  But if we are to share His glory, we must also share His suffering.”

Do you know?
In God's new kingdom there will be none greater than you except for God, not even the great John.
In the meantime you should also remember:

1 PET 2:9 “But you are not like that, for you are a chosen people.  You are royal priests, a holy nation, God’s very own possession.  As a result, you can show others the goodness of God, for He called you out of the darkness into His wonderful light.”
1 PET 2:10 "Once you had no identity as a people; now you are God’s people.  Once you received no mercy; now you have received God’s mercy.”

So remember now –
If you adopted Jesus Christ as your Saviour and if satan ever wants you to doubt on who you are –
Take your doubts to Jesus and tell Him about them and then read Romans 8 verse 16 and 17 and 1 Peter 2 verse 9 and 10.

Please do not believe people telling you that a Christian’s path to heaven is filled with moonlight and roses, because it is not.
Jesus said that the road:

MAT 16:24 “Then Jesus said to His disciples: "If any of you wants to be My follower, you must give up your own way, take up your cross, and follow Me.”

Should someone who is burdened by heavy trials of this life ask me:
"Sakkie, but what is the meaning of this life?"
I will answer like this:

The purpose of this life, through His loving grace, is to have the opportunity to stay on the narrow road until it ends at Heaven's gate and then to be welcomed by Jesus, to enjoy with Him your eternal life forever thereafter.

(Should you be interested, the following thoughts from the Word pertaining to this matter can be send to you upon request:

"Gather treasures for yourselves in heaven"
"The third heaven and our compensation")

Greetings,
Sakkie
