THE ONLY RELIGION THAT LEADS TO GOD

THE ONLY RELIGION THAT LEADS TO GOD

Sakkie Parsons

Translated from Afrikaans:  “Die enigste ware Godsdiens wat na God lei”

The other day someone made the statement that the Christian religion is an illogical religion and he motivates it as follows:

“You say that God is your Father. How is it then, that HE allow so many tragedies upon you, such as sickness, accidents, and other sufferings? ”

My answer is firstly that we must never try to understand or to work out God’s logic with our human logic.  However, I still want to respond to what the person said. Not to explain God's logic, (so arrogant and unwise I would not be in the least), but as I see it, to demonstrate the person's foolish statement.

A mother takes her child to school on the very first day and when his mum wants to leave him there, he starts to cry heartbrokenly, but after his mum tried to comfort him and it didn’t work, she kissed him once more and got in her car and drove away.

Can one now say that her logic is wrong, or that she doesn’t love her child?
Wouldn't it be illogical to reason like that? One could even say that someone who wants to claim that she does not love her child, has no logic at all.

I now want to point you to two events in the Word of God. The following is prophesied of John the Baptist in the Old Testament:

ISAIAH 40:3   A voice cries: "In the wilderness prepare the way of the LORD; make straight in the desert a highway for our God.

Then it came to pass in the New Testament:

MATTHEW 3:3-6
3  For this is he who was spoken of by the prophet Isaiah when he said, "The voice of one crying in the wilderness: 'Prepare the way of the Lord; make his paths straight.'"
4  Now John wore a garment of camel's hair and a leather belt around his waist, and his food was locusts and wild honey.
5  Then Jerusalem and all Judea and all the region about the Jordan were going out to him,
6  and they were baptized by him in the river Jordan, confessing their sins.

Then John ends up in jail, but not only does he end up in jail, but in the end he is beheaded.  Now also remember his head was take off because he spoke out for God and preached against sin.

Suppose it was possible for someone to talk to him shortly after he was beheaded and ask him that if he could have his life over – Would he not kept quiet about his preaching of sin and then could have had a peaceful and long life?

Logic tells me that John would have answered something like this: “I would have done exactly the same thing, because now I have lived shorter on earth but; I am sooner in Heaven and that is the best thing that could have happened to me.”

I could have mentioned many more examples, but I will suffice with one more.  I am not talking now in this example of the man who rejected Jesus but of the man that hung on His other side:

A man lives a rough and sinful life and is arrested and crucified and after hanging on the cross for a while, he dies.

Suppose it were possible and someone asked him shortly after his death: “If you could re-live your life, would you want it otherwise so you would not have to die such a cruel death but had a long and sufficient life and then die in a natural way?

LUKE 23:40-43
40  But the other rebuked him, saying, "Do you not fear God, since you are under the same sentence of condemnation?
41  And we indeed justly, for we are receiving the due reward of our deeds; but this man has done nothing wrong."
42  And he said, "Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom."
43  And he said to him, "Truly, I say to you, today you will be with me in Paradise."

Logic tells me that his answer would be something like the following: “What! And missed my crucifixion next to Jesus!  You must be out of your mind! ”

I also do not know why I was born with an eye problem. I also do not know why my eyesight got weaker and weaker. So much so that today I am totally blind.

I also do not know why God allowed me to get cancer in 1997 and then healed me perfectly after the doctor told me and my wife that if they cannot stop it, I have 3 to 6 months to live

However, I know that my wonderful Father say to me in His Word:

JAMES 5:11  Behold, we consider those blessed who remained steadfast. You have heard of the steadfastness of Job, and you have seen the purpose of the Lord, how the Lord is compassionate and merciful.

He also say in His Word:

ROMANS 8:28   And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.

If I look at the knowledge I have and the testimony and evidence to my disposal; then the Christian religion is the most logical religion there is, but how can it be otherwise? This is the only religion that leads to God and your and my salvation:

JOHN 14:6   Jesus said to him, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

Here is another great truth that you can keep in your heart:

All religions, like any other type of lifestyle, lead to and eventually before God – because we are all going to appear before God, no matter what religion you or I belong to or what your way of life is.

ROM 14:11-12
11  for it is written, "As I live, says the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God."
12  So then each of us will give an account of himself to God.

Yes, as I mentioned – all religions and lifestyles eventually lead towards or before God – because every human being He ever created will appear before Him . But – only Jesus Christ through His crucifixion sacrifice give us eternal life and lead us into heaven with God – To be with Him forever.

Because you see:

Who is this God before whom every man will appear and bow down?
Who is this God before whom every man will give an account?
Who is this God whom towards every human being who has ever lived and is still going to live, will confess that He is the Lord?

PHIL 2:9-11
9  Therefore God has highly exalted him (Jesus) and bestowed on him the Name that is above every name,
10  so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth,
11  and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

Here is the most important part of this great glory that I am now sharing with you:

* All religions eventually lead to God because all people will appear before Him – but only by accepting Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Saviour, you and I gain access to eternal life and Heaven.

JOHN 14:6   Jesus said to him, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through (union with) Me.

ACTS  4:12 And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved."  (Jesus Christ only!)
