REMAIN ON GUARD IN ALL CIRCUMSTANCES – PART 1

REMAIN ON GUARD IN ALL CIRCUMSTANCES – PART 1

Translated from the Afrikaans Version: Bly in alle omstandighede op julle hoede- Deel 1

Someone wrote to me and asked the following:

"In order to become a child of God, would I only need to repent and get baptized, and then I am saved?
Or are there other obligations a child of God should undertake to be able to enter the Kingdom of God? "

In other words, if I understand the question correctly:

Is the popular belief of "Once saved always saved” commonly assumed by Christians correct?"

Let me then immediately clarify this matter before I go any further:
From what I understand from the Word of God is that the perception of "once saved, always saved," is a lie, like so many other lies which are brought into the church through the leadership of satan.

Read to the end and then decide prayerfully for yourself whether I communicated a lie or the truth.

People have this wrong perception of the Christian, because 80% of South Africa's people boasts, "We are Christians”, and yet we are one of the countries with the highest crime rate per 100,000 people in the world.

I would like to start off by sharing Part 1 of my letter with you regarding who this Jesus is whom I have adopted as my personal Saviour and now have the certain knowledge that if I keep my eyes on Him at all times, that I am truly on my way to Heaven to spend eternity with Him.

After the Fall in the Garden of Eden, all people were condemned to a terrible eternal death in hell, although they would never actually die.

ROM 5:12 “When Adam sinned, sin entered the world. Adam's sin brought death, so death spread to everyone, for everyone sinned.”

Our Lord wanted to restore His love relationship with the people but, because our Lord is perfect, there was no flawless sacrifice to restore the love relationship between our Lord and people, perfectly.  But our Lord sought to make it possible for the people who wanted to have a true relationship with God Almighty and the only perfect sacrifice that our Lord could find in the whole universe, was His one and only Son, Jesus Christ:

JHN 3:16 “For this is how God loved the world: He gave His one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life.”
JHN 3:17 “God sent His Son into the world not to judge the world, but to save the world through Him.”

Who is this one and only Son of God who came to be the perfect sacrifice for you and me?

There are religions and people who are not Christians who stated that He is a good man, or a good teacher and there are people from other religions who even go as far as to call Him a prophet.  But what does the Word of God, my highest authority that I can physically share with you, say?
I read:

JHN 1:1-5
1 “In the beginning the Word already existed. The Word was with God, and the Word was God.”
2 “He existed in the beginning with God.”
3 “God created everything through Him, and nothing was created except through Him.”
4 “The Word gave life to everything that was created, and His life brought light to everyone.”
5 “The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness can never extinguish it.”

So, who does the Word refer to in this scripture that you have just read?
Well, the Word itself gives us the answer, if we read just a little bit further in the same chapter:

JHN 1:14 “So the Word became human and made His home among us.  He was full of unfailing love and faithfulness. And we have seen His glory, the glory of the Father’s one and only Son.”

So, who is this Jesus Christ, "The Word that became flesh?"

Well, according to the Word of God, it is our sovereign omnipotent God. With everything that you have read now the Word of God also stipulates the following:

Philippians 2:6-9
6 “Though He was God, He did not think of equality with God as something to cling to.”
7 “Instead, He gave up His divine privileges; He took the humble position of a slave and was born as a human being. When He appeared in human form,”
8 “He humbled Himself in obedience to God and died a criminal’s death on a cross.”
9 “Therefore, God elevated Him to the place of highest honour and gave Him the name above all other names,”

In this first part of my letter, I have shown you who this Jesus Christ is to whom we must repent and accept as our Lord and Saviour.

In part two of this letter I will show you, what I see in the Word of God how we should view our lives after repentance and to keep your eyes fixated on the afterlife.

Greetings,
Sakkie
