SALT IN YOUR SUGAR
Sakkie Parsons
Translated from Afrikaans: “Sout in jou Suiker”
I would like to share with you the following saying, which I also try to remember and live out in my own life:
“Why would I put salt in your sugar? It’s not going to make my sugar sweeter.”
I wish all the many people, especially Christians, who should actually know better and should be guided by the Holy Spirit when it comes to these things, who are so easily rude toward other people, or want to make other people embarrassed or feel bad or experience something negative, want to realize that all that energy they wasted, did nothing to improve their own circumstances inside them – and if you feel good about what you have done, then at the moment there is in you psyche and of course also in your spiritual life, something very wrong that need urgent attention.
For example, I may decide to remind a person of something negative in his/her life, knowing that he/she will now feel uncomfortable or embarrassed, because he/she is already working hard on the problem in their life – but by doing so, my sugar will still taste the same (my circumstances will not change because of that) even if he sit on the other side with the salt that I put in his sugar. I am only going to make the person feel bad or discouraged.
Therefore, I’m not going to achieve anything as a child of our Lord – but satan is going to hit a spot shot through me.
That is why we must always remember the golden rule of life that our LORD gave us:
MATTHEW 7:12
12“So then, in everything treat others the same way you want them to treat you, for this is [the essence of] the Law and the [writings of the] Prophets.
EPHESIANS 5:1-2 Be Imitators of God
1Therefore become imitators of God [copy Him and follow His example], as well-beloved children [imitate their father]; 2and walk continually in love [that is, value one another—practice empathy and compassion, unselfishly seeking the best for others], just as Christ also loved you and gave Himself up for us, an offering and sacrifice to God [slain for you, so that it became] a sweet fragrance.

Jude 1:24-25 To him who is able to keep you from stumbling and to present you before his glorious presence without fault and with great joy, to the only God our Saviour be glory, majesty, power and authority, through Jesus Christ our Lord, before all ages, now and forevermore! Amen.
