THE SPIRIT WHICH YOU HAVE RECEIVED, IS NOT A SPIRIT WHICH WILL MAKE YOU A FRIGHTENED SLAVE

THE SPIRIT WHICH YOU HAVE RECEIVED, IS NOT A SPIRIT WHICH WILL MAKE YOU A FRIGHTENED SLAVE

Sakkie Parsons

Translated from Afrikaans: Die Gees wat julle ontvang het, is nie 'n gees wat weer van julle vreesbevange slawe maak nie

In this writing to you, I want to try again as I have tried in the past, to instruct you not to pay attention to these dreams and prophecy’s, which are being sent around, which are very long (many words) and which has really nothing of what our Lord has said.

If someone shares something with me, as if it has come from our Lord, I immediately test it with the Word and if there is something which – however minor it may be or it differs to what the Word has taught me – it becomes for me something unholy from satan.

Someone wrote to me about a dream which someone had – as I understand the dream – our Lord’s face was looking angrily at the person and then said the following, but first read this section where I can just shake my head in unbelief:

“When I turned around, I suddenly saw a FACE in the clouds (I cannot describe it, I just know He was angry).  I had such a fright I fell to the ground and began screaming.  While I was lying there, I heard Him say: “My patience is now finished with humanity which does not want to listen.  Go and warn them, because they do not know what is coming (what will happen).  Tell them to be holy because I AM HOLY.”

I got saved in 1973 and on Wednesday the 25th of April 1973 was baptized and in all the years I have walked with the Lord, to this day, I have never experienced that my loving Father behaves in this way and acted as unloving to me as apparently demonstrated in this dream.

Listen to what the Word says:

ROM 8:15 “The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship. And by him we cry, “Abba, Father.”
ROM 8:16 The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children.

For me it is not possible to think that our Lord, my loving Father, would look angrily towards me for something that someone else has done.
I cannot under any circumstances think that I would ever be so afraid of my loving Lord, that in anguish I would scream and fall on the ground and that for something which I have no complicity in it, after He said in His Word to me as His child, that in my service to Him, I do not have to be afraid.

As an example I read in the Word:

MAT 7:9 “Which of you, if your son asks for bread, will give him a stone?
MAT 7:10 Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake?
MAT 7:11 If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him.

With what you have now read from the Word as a measure, will you look at your child in anger for something which was done by someone else?

Is it possible that your relationship with your child is without love so that your child in anguish would scream if you spoke to her/him?

Well, if you as a sinful person would not do this, how is it possible that someone can think that our Lord – who out of His great love for us hung on the cross – will do something like this?

Then, it is simply not true that we do not know what is going to come.

It is not necessary for anybody to tell me what is coming.  Everything that you and I need to know about what is coming, is described in the Word.  And those people who have not been converted (saved) and therefore have not read the Word?  Well, it is certainly not going to help to make them afraid and try to force them to serve our Lord.

* Our Lord is not looking for people to serve Him because they are afraid of hell or the great tribulation.
* Also – He does not look for people to serve Him just so that it can go good with them. (prosperous, successful, healthy)
* Also – He does not look for people, to serve Him because they eagerly want to live nicely in Heaven.

No, Oh No!

We must preach the Gospel of Jesus to the people so that they can accept Him so that they can have a true loving relationship with Him.

Our Lord looks for people who love Him and will serve and love because we accepted Him as our Redeemer and Saviour, and out of love follow and serve Him, because He is who He is.

JOHN 4:23 Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in the Spirit and in truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks.

If someone hears the Gospel of Jesus Christ, accepts Him as their Redeemer and Saviour, then that person will receive the Holy Spirit, who will then lead that person in all truthfulness – like for you and me, if we listen to the Holy Spirit.

JOHN 14:16  And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever —
JOHN 14:17 the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be[a] in you.

Listen my friends:   In the Old Testament people did dream dreams and saw visions and the people needed to have someone to interpret the dreams for them but in the New Testament you and I, us who have accepted Jesus Christ as our Redeemer and Saviour, received the Holy Spirit who lives within us and if you or I now dream a dream, or see a vision, and it is from our Lord, believe me, then you will know, what you need to know.

We read in the Word:

ACTS 2:17 “’In the last days, God says, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy,  your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams.
(Therefore the evidence will be from them).
ACTS 2:18 Even on my servants, both men and women,  I will pour out my Spirit in those days, and they will prophesy.

(This according to my understanding does not include incomprehendable riddles and dreams or visions).

Nowhere in what you have now read, is there anything close that you could use to say that we will not understand what we may dream of see.  Rather, this section even ends by saying this:

ACTS 2:18  Even on my servants, both men and women,  I will pour out my Spirit in those days, and they will prophesy.

If our Lord gives something to me to share with you, whether it is through a dream, vision or something that I have read somewhere, I will know if I listen to our Lord’s Holy Spirit, which resides in me, which I must share with you.

There will be no riddles, but how terrible is it that there are Christians which will take the dream or vision to a dream interpreter or diviner, or whatever people call them!

How do I know that this is the truth from the Word, of which I have just announced to you?
Listen to what the Word says:

JOHN 14:26 But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.

Did you see what you have just read?

JOHN 14:26 But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.

If our Jesus says to me “will teach you all things” then in my book this includes, dreams, visions, prophecies and whatever you want to call it.

In every single situation in the New Testament of what I know, every person who had a dream or vision, knew exactly what it meant and they knew how it was to be handled or what they should say to whoever:

In one instance the person needed to ponder about it, because he lived according to a certain religious lifestyle, but then our Lord helped him to immediately to do what he had to do.

If I dream, and the dream hinders me, but I do not know, if it is has any meaning, then I pray about it, and if I then still do not receive a word from our Lord, then it is just another dream.

If someone acknowledges, that he/she is a Christian, who sends me a dream or vision which he or she has had and the person cannot tell me what our Lord has said to them through the dream or vision, I do not waste my time on the dream or whatever you want to call it, by reading it further.

For those of you who are easily stirred up through these dreamers and visionaries who cannot tell you what our Lord is saying to us, I really want to encourage you today. Make sure your heart and life is right with our Lord and follow Him in spirit and truthfulness, because then, my friends, you have nothing to fear (worry about)!

JOHN 5:24  “Very truly I tell you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be judged but has crossed over from death to life.

ROM 8:15 ”The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship. And by him we cry, “Abba, Father.”

I wrote a daily thought from the Word, where I explained exactly what the difference is in how our Lord’s Holy Spirit in the Old Testament worked, how the people needed someone to explain their dreams etc. for them and how He works now in us, His children, and I will gladly send this to you on request.

The daily thought from the Word is called:

Wat is Dan die verskil. – What is the difference.

I also have written the following daily thoughts from the Word about dreams and dream interpreters, or whatever they want to be called by, and on your request would gladly share these writings with you.

The daily thoughts from the word are – if you request them – please read them in the order that I send them to you:

Oor die wegraping droom – About the rapture dream
Wanneer iemand sê: “Dit het ek van ons Here gekry.” – When someone says: “This is what I received from our Lord.”

Sakkie
