THEN HE CRUSHES YOU COMPLETELY TO PIECES
Sakkie Parsons
Perhaps you also know someone like the person I want to share with you about here, but first just quickly read this and remember that it is JESUS who is telling it.
LUKE 15:11–20
To further explain this point, Jesus told them the following story:
“The younger one said to his father, ‘Father, give me my share of the estate now instead of waiting until you die.’ So the father agreed to divide his wealth between his two sons. A few days later this younger son gathered together all he had, traveled to a distant country, and there wasted all his money in wild living. By the time his money was gone, a great famine swept over the land, and he began to starve. He persuaded a local farmer to hire him to feed his pigs. The son became so hungry that even the pods he was feeding to the pigs looked good to him. But no one gave him anything to eat.
When he finally came to his senses, he said to himself, ‘At home even the hired workers have food enough to spare, and here I am dying of hunger! I will go home to my father and say, Father, I am no longer worthy to be called your son. Please take me on as a hired servant.’ So he returned home to his father. And while he was still a long way off, his father saw him coming. Filled with love and compassion, he ran to his son, embraced him, and kissed him.”
I have often seen in my life how satan ruins people and completely breaks them until they are totally shattered.
Here Jesus gives us an excellent example, and I would like to show you what I believe the Holy Spirit showed me.
You see, satan’s modus operandi is usually exactly the same as one of the nasty drugs that are circulating these days.
Here Jesus gives us a wonderful example of how he works:
First, like a drug, he makes you feel good about what you have done.
LUKE 15:13
“And not many days later the younger son gathered all together and journeyed to a far country…”
Just think how good he must have felt.
Here I go, incredibly rich. The world lies open before me. The world is my oyster.
Now he is wonderfully “on a high.”
Then the next thing happens.
While satan makes him think he is enjoying life, he is actually busy making a mess of his life.
Look how Jesus put it:
LUKE 15:13
“…And there he wasted his possessions with reckless living.”
Then, when satan has you feeling good and moving at full speed in the direction he wants you to go, he comes down on you — like a ton of bricks.
Then he crushes you flat.
Then he crushes you to pieces.
Then he crushes you completely to shreds.
LUKE 15:16
“He longed to fill his stomach with the pods that the pigs were eating, but no one gave him anything.”
Then many people jump off buildings.
Then many people press revolvers against their heads.
Then many people swallow a handful of pills because they simply do not know how to put the pieces back together again.
And the reason why so many people do not know how to put the pieces back together is because there are not many ways to do it.
You see, there is only one truly certain way to put the pieces back together, and that is with our Lord Jesus.
He also says:
ISAIAH 1:18
“Come now, let us reason together,” says the LORD. “Though your sins are like scarlet, I will make them as white as snow. Though they are red like crimson, I will make them like wool.”
ISAIAH 42:3
“A bruised reed He will not break, and a smoldering wick He will not snuff out. In faithfulness He will bring forth justice.”
1 JOHN 1:9
“If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”
When God says:
1 JOHN 1:9
“…to cleanse us from all unrighteousness…”
Then you must know that it is everything — nothing remains behind.
All I must do is what you have just read, and then open my heart wide.
REVELATION 3:20
“Look! I stand at the door and knock. If you hear My voice and open the door, I will come in, and we will share a meal together as friends.”
Just look what God thinks of you and me –
Who wants to come into our hearts?
Who wants, as it were, to become one with us?
ISAIAH 9:6
“For a Child is born to us, a Son is given to us. The government will rest on His shoulders. And He will be called: Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.”
Just look, in Jesus’ example, how much God wants to make things right between Him and you.
This crushed younger son prepares a “speech” for when he meets his father.
LUKE 15:18
“I will arise and go to my father, and I will say to him, ‘Father, I have sinned against heaven and before you,
LUKE 15:19
and I am no longer worthy to be called your son; make me like one of your hired servants.’”
But his father loves him so much that the son does not even get the chance to deliver his “speech” before he finds himself in his father’s arms.
LUKE 15:20
“So he got up and went to his father. But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and felt deep compassion for him, and ran and embraced him and kissed him.”
Say today to Jesus: “Lord, I give my heart and life to You. Thank You for dying on the cross for me – so that I can be Yours. Please forgive all of my sins and lead me in Your everlasting love.”
Then go to a church leader who preach Jesus Christ as the only way to God and find His wonderful peace and rule in your life as you walk with Him with the knowing that you will go to Heaven when you step out of this world into eternity.
JOHN 14:6
Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me.
