A TRIBUTE TO ROBIN BARKER
Dear friends,
Today I would like to pay tribute to my beloved co-worker and translator, Robin Barker.
My earnest condolences to Robin's wife, Magda and their children and relatives, with Robin's departure from this life on Wednesday, 15 August 2018.
Robin was a true Christian who lived out of his Christian life and offered his help voluntarily to translate my ‘Thoughts from the Word’ writings into English, for which I am very grateful.
I thank our Lord for the privilege that He sent Robin over my path, after many years of my desire that someone would be willing to do the translation work.
He was so zealous in our Lord's work and did an enormous amount of translation so that many more people can be helped by this ministry that our Lord has laid on my heart years ago.
How absolutely blessed is Robin right now –
There he is in heaven with Jesus and here on earth he is still working for our Lord due to the good work he has done and will still be available.
I pray every day and ask our Lord that I can left a legacy behind that will be ongoing in the work of our Lord. Really, if I can choose something to leave behind, then this is it – that until Jesus' second coming, people will be able to visit this ministry on the Internet and find something they've been looking for to help them on their way to our Lord – and in this Robin has a huge part.
What an awesome miracle – to open your eyes and then see with your own eyes that you are now in heaven with Jesus!
JOH 11:25-26
25 Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live,
26 and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die. Do you believe this?"
There was a time when my great hero Paul wished that it could happen to him:
FIL 1:21-24
21 For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.
22 If I am to live in the flesh, that means fruitful labor for me. Yet which I shall choose I cannot tell.
23 I am hard pressed between the two. My desire is to depart and be with Christ, for that is far better.
24 But to remain in the flesh is more necessary on your account.
I will miss Robin a lot. Our comfort lies in the knowledge that Jesus opened the way to our Father through His sacrifice on the cross and we know that Robin is safe with our Lord in victory and free from every human suffering or pain.
1 COR 15:54….."Death is swallowed up in victory."
LUK 23:43 And he said to him, "Truly, I say to you, today you will be with me in Paradise."
My sincere thanks and appreciation to Magda and the children who offered Robin the time to do this translation work for our Lord. In this way you also have a special part in what he has done.
Blessings, Peace and Strength in Jesus,
Sakkie Parsons
