WHEN I APPROACH JESUS WITH A PROBLEM

I would like to share with you what I discovered while I was reading the following verses in the Bible.
Below are the verses:
JHN 9:1-7
1 As he went along, he saw a man blind from birth.
2 His disciples asked him, “Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?”
3 “Neither this man nor his parents sinned,” said Jesus, “but this happened so that the works of God might be displayed in him
4 As long as it is day, we must do the works of him who sent me. Night is coming, when no one can work.
5 While I am in the world, I am the light of the world.”
6 Having said this, he spit on the ground, made some mud with the saliva, and put it on the man’s eyes.
7 “Go,” he told him, “wash in the Pool of Siloam” (this word means “Sent”). So the man went and washed, and came home seeing.
The first thing that came to my attention, which is true to His character, Jesus did not ignore the person with a problem (disability), which He came across on his journey, and did not leave him to his own fate.
If I approach Jesus with a problem, I am absolutely sure, He will give His undivided attention to it.
JHN 9:1 As he went along, he saw a man blind from birth.
In the following verse I immediately notice something else:
JHN 9:2 His disciples asked him, “Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?”
His disciples identified that it was not only the man who had the problem; either him or his parents were the cause of the problem.
Many times, for example, we will see a beggar and quickly say that their situation is due to their laziness. I know myself, of instances where people have blamed themselves for events in their lives which they have had no control over.
Then there was also an occasion where I attended a service in Port Elizabeth and a man wanted to expel a blind demon out of me. (I am physical blind)
Most of us, as soon as we identify a problem, want to create a mountain out of a mole hill.
If I can use a little humour as an example –
I went to Port Elizabeth, invited by the Pastor of a local community to spread the Word of God, when a man noticed that I was blind and he eagerly approached me so that he could expel the blind demon out of me.
Look at what occurs in this instance –
The disciples see a problem and immediately exaggerate the problem.
They would also like to add ‘look at us’ Jesus –
He overlooks the man’s disability and sees the miracle to come.
Sometimes you may also feel that a problem is just going to get worse.
Just place it completely into the hand of Jesus, who loves you so unconditionally, that He was prepared to die for you, and if satan wants to enlighten you that He is no longer interested in you, then use your intelligence and say for yourself:
“This is total nonsense to think that Jesus, after all that He has been through for me, that He would not give His undivided attention, if I approach Him with my problem.”
Then you must rebuke satan In the name of Jesus Christ, because he is a thief who wants to steel your peace of mind and Jesus really wants to help you.
Jesus also said in relation to this:
JHN 10:10 The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.
JHN 10:11 “I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.
When you have a problem, which you feel is overwhelming you – Take the problem to Jesus, because believe me, with Him there is truly peace.
No wonder that God said in His Word of our marvellous Jesus:
ISA 9:6 For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders.
And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. (TNIV)
ISA 9:7 Of the increase of his government and peace there will be no end.
He will reign on David’s throne and over his kingdom, establishing and upholding it with justice and righteousness from that time on and forever. The zeal of the LORD Almighty will accomplish this.
Now today you must also realise –
If you have accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour, it does not matter how terrible your past was. It does not matter where your problem is at this point in time.
Jesus says today to you:
MAT 11:28 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.
What I am about to say, this is not hearsay, I experience it daily.
I do not say that your life will always be ‘sunshine and roses’ but if you really believe, what I have just shared with you, you will experience wonderful peace in your heart, which can only come from our Lord.
JHN 14:27 Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.
Is it not wonderful knowing this?
I'm not saying it's always going to change the way you want it to change – but I say for sure, you'll experience peace, HIS peace in your life, because you believe and know it in your own life.
Now you can enjoy the rest of this day and the rest of your life in total peace.
