WHEN WE PRAY

WHEN WE PRAY

Sakkie Parsons

Someone wrote to me as follows:

I have a question and I believe you can explain it to me:
When we pray for healing or a breakthrough – can we pray alone for someone without a fellow Christian and then believe God is present and will touch and heal this person but what does the Bible says about prayer?  There is a verse that says:  MAT 18:19-20  Again I say to you, if two of you agree on earth about anything they ask, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven.  For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I among them."
Shall we only pray for someone if we are more than one?

This is then how I look at this matter:

You know, what is so delightful about the wonderful gospel of Jesus Christ, is that our Lord, because He created man according to His image, and made man so diversely, He set up the New Testament of His New Covenant with man just so wonderfully diverse in order to comply with all kinds of Christians in their spiritual configuration.

Therefore, the same JESUS that said:

MAT 18:19-20
19 Again I say to you, if two of you agree on earth about anything they ask, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven.
20 For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I among them."

Because He created men is such a diverse way, He says in another section:

MAT 6:6  But when you pray, go into your room and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you.

Hoe wonderful to pray in such a way – in another section it is written:

1COR 14:26  What then, brothers?  When you come together, each one has a hymn, a lesson, a revelation, a tongue, or an interpretation. Let all things be done for building up.

We talk with our Lord day and night as with a Friend in our minds and in our hearts full of thankfulness and in this way we have a wonderful loving relationship with Him.

1 THES 5:17 pray without ceasing,

I close with this advice from our Lord’s precious Word:

Pray to our Lord as He put it in your heart at the giving moment and this is applicable when you testify or sing, etc, but:

FIL 4:8 Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.

How great then that there is such a wonderful diversity in the Christian’s way of worship and prayer.

Greetings,
Sakkie
