WHO IS THE ANTICHRIST?

WHO IS THE ANTICHRIST?

Sakkie Parsons

Someone wrote and asked me some questions about the Aantichrist.

All his questions can be summarized in my opinion, in his first question and that is how I am going to open up this question to the best of my abilities.

His question:  “I was at a men ministry this evening and the following question came up:  “Who is the Antichrist?’”

In my life I look at this matter as follows:

I know that somewhere in future, someone will arise that we all will expect as being the Antichrist.  I, however, see this person rather as a leader or head frontrunner of the Antichrist in the world.

When people speak so cautious and careful (to put it lightly) about the Antichrist, I see the following picture in my mind:
Satan succeeds, so it seems to me, to make the Christians gaze hand above the eyes into the distance, looking for a great danger that he/she heard of, while right between his/her feet on the ground,  the snake comes up and prepare to bite.

If I read and understand the Word – the Antichrist is not an individual, it is numerous and for a long time already are amongst us:

1JOHN 2:18 Children, it is the last hour, and as you have heard that antichrist is coming, so now many antichrists have come. Therefore we know that it is the last hour.

To have a better understanding to what I am saying, we have to look at the meaning of the word ‘Antichrist’.
The dictionary quotes it as follows:
Anti–Christ.   Against Christ, opposite Christianity.

If you understand this, then you read the word ‘anti-Christ’ and it make sense.

1JOHN 2:22  Who is the liar but he who denies that Jesus is the Christ? This is the antichrist, he who denies the Father and the Son.

I, myself, do not spend time (I wanted to wright; waste time) so to speak about who would be the great anti-Christian induna.  I spend the precious time that our Lord gives me, to share His Gospel to as many people as possible.  Yes, even with the antichrists that comes along my way.  For who knows if I cannot win one of them for our Lord with the help of the Holy Spirit – and if someone tells me that it is not possible, I can just quote the Word of our Lord:

GEN 18:14  Is anything too hard for the LORD? ..

In closing, I once more share with you how I look at the ‘Antichrist’ question as well as many other questions:

I read and study the Word of God and then I use that what our Lord opens up to me.
I temporarily put aside those things that I do not understand at this time,  with the certain knowledge that when I need to know what I must know, our Lord will make sure that I, His child, will know what I need to know.

In the meantime, to start with, I know for sure that I must be an example to others in the way I live my life as a follower of Christ and a witness for our Lord, and if He would like me to do more, He will also equip me for it.

ACTS 1:8 But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth."

In all this I have this wonderful knowledge that we as His children will no longer be here on earth when during the tribulation.
I must just make sure that I am always ready.

1THS 5:8  But since we belong to the day, let us be sober, having put on the breastplate of faith and love, and for a helmet the hope of salvation.
1THS 5:9 For God has not destined us for wrath, but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ,

Greetings,
Sakkie
