IS ANYTHING TOO HARD FOR THE LORD?
Sakkie Parsons
Translated from Afrikaans: “Sou iets vir die HERE te wonderbaar wees?”
Following a thought from the Word that I sent out, with the name of:
” WILL WE RECOGNIZE EACH OTHER IN HEAVEN”
which I will also send to you on request, someone wrote to me as follows:
“I read your writing, I like what you said, but how do you think the following scenario would work: My wife dies at a young age, I remarry, and now we all get to heaven – Won’t this be a huge problem?”
Here is my response to the person, which I would also like to share with you.
Do you know there is a case in the Word where people had a similar problem about something Jesus preached, and which is part of His Gospel?
We read:
Matt 22:23-30
23On that day some Sadducees, who say that there is no resurrection [of the dead], came to Him and asked Him a question, 24saying, “Teacher, Moses said, ‘IF A MAN DIES, LEAVING NO CHILDREN, HIS BROTHER AS NEXT OF KIN SHALL MARRY HIS WIDOW, AND RAISE CHILDREN FOR HIS BROTHER.’ 25Now there were seven brothers among us; the first married and died, and having no children left his wife to his brother. 26The second also [died childless], and the third, down to the seventh. 27Last of all, the woman died. 28“So in the resurrection, whose wife of the seven will she be? For they all had married her.”
29But Jesus replied to them, “You are all wrong because you know neither the Scriptures [which teach the resurrection] nor the power of God [for He is able to raise the dead]. 30For in the resurrection neither do men marry nor are women given in marriage, but they are like angels in heaven [who do not marry nor produce children].
In other words, as I see it.
If you cut it down to the bone.
Our Lord always has a solution for this type, as well as any other problem. After all, He is God Almighty and if someone come to me with this type, or any other problem in the Gospel of Christ, which I cannot with my human mind understand, and therefore cannot explain, I am too grateful to be able to answer with great certainty in my heart:
This is what our Lord proclaim in His Word, and I certainly believe it, because:
Gen 18:14
14“Is anything too difficult or too wonderful for the LORD? …
For now, being only human, I know:
1COR 13:12
12For now [in this time of imperfection] we see in a mirror dimly [a blurred reflection, a riddle, an enigma], but then [when the time of perfection comes we will see reality] face to face. Now I know in part [just in fragments], but then I will know fully, just as I have been fully known [by God].
That is why I believe in our Lord, as He want us to believe in Him:
Heb 11:6
6But without faith it is impossible to [walk with God and] please Him, for whoever comes [near] to God must [necessarily] believe that God exists and that He rewards those who [earnestly and diligently] seek Him.
Read the next verse because I want to show you something:
Heb 11:7
7By faith [with confidence in God and His word] Noah, being warned by God about events not yet seen, in reverence prepared an ark for the salvation of his family. By this [act of obedience] he condemned the world and became an heir of the righteousness which comes by faith.
For example, let’s quickly talk about this Noah and his history.
You know, there are many people, many of whom are Christians, who do not believe that Noah’s ark was a physical reality.
Because how on earth, (so they reason with their worthless human mind), could a pair of the whole world’s animals have entered that ark.
Some people, the unbelievers, summarily dismiss it as a myth or something.
Some people, because they say they are Christians, try to give all kinds of explanations, with their small human minds, to explain or justify the humanly impossible, because it is just not possible for them, to believe like Jesus’ true children – to be able to believe it childishly (unconditional), as the Word of our Lord tell us to do.
Do you know what Jesus, God who became man Himself, say about this Noah and his actions?
Well, this Word that became flesh, namely Jesus Christ, our Lord and Saviour.
JOHN 1:1
1In the beginning [before all time] was the Word (Christ), and the Word was with God, and the Word was God Himself.
JOHN 1:14 The word made flesh
14And the Word (Christ) became flesh, and lived among us; and we [actually] saw His glory, glory as belongs to the [One and] only begotten Son of the Father, [the Son who is truly unique, the only One of His kind, who is] full of grace and truth (absolutely free of deception).
Well, Jesus leave us in no doubt about the truth of that event and that it took place exactly as the Word, His Word, tell us that it happened – and respectfully I say – He should know because He, God who became man, was there:
John 1:2-3
2He was [continually existing] in the beginning [co-eternally] with God. 3All things were made and came into existence through Him; and without Him not even one thing was made that has come into being.
Jesus speak like this about this humanly impossible explainable event, which probably seem just as impossible to many people as the seemingly impossible situation you sketched above.
Mat 24:37-38
37For the coming of the Son of Man (the Messiah) will be just like the days of Noah. 38For as in those days before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the [very] day when Noah entered the ark,
Mat 24:40-42
40At that time two men will be in the field; one will be taken [for judgment] and one will be left. 41Two women will be grinding at the mill; one will be taken [for judgment] and one will be left.
Be Ready for His Coming
42“So be alert [give strict attention, be cautious and active in faith], for you do not know which day [whether near or far] your Lord is coming.
You and I, our Lord’s children, must believe in Him and His Word, as He want that we must believe in Him –
Like children. His children – which we are:
Mat 11:25-26
25At that time Jesus said, “I praise You, Father, Lord of heaven and earth [I openly and joyfully acknowledge Your great wisdom], that You have hidden these things [these spiritual truths] from the wise and intelligent and revealed them to infants [to new believers, to those seeking God’s will and purpose]. 26Yes, Father, for this way was well-pleasing in Your sight.
So, my friend,
Let all who hear the Gospel of Christ take careful note of the following:
Mark 10:15
15“I assure you and most solemnly say to you, whoever does not receive and welcome the kingdom of God like a child will not enter it at all.”
