THE TWO TODAYS

THE TWO TODAYS

Translated from Afrikaans: Die twee vandags

I would like to share with you my thoughts on the two ‘todays’ that came into my mind the other day.
Before I share my thoughts with you, first this:

When must people make things right with God?
When is the right or best time?

The answer is in the first ‘today’ from the Word, that I want to share with you.

HEB 3:7  So, as the Holy Spirit says: “Today, if you hear his voice,
HEB 3:8  do not harden your hearts. As you did in the rebellion, during the time of testing in the wilderness,

Someone may say:
“I am so far gone.  There is no more hope for me.”

For you I especially want to eagerly share the second ‘today’ that came into my mind.

LUKE 23:42  Then he said, “Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom.”
LUKE 23:43  Jesus answered him, “truly I tell you, today you will be with me in paradise.”

This man was literally seconds away from his death.
In other words:
Virtually seconds later, as a result of his repentance, he was in paradise.

There is an Afrikaans saying that says:
“Waar daar lewe is, is daar hoop.” “Where there is life there is hope.”

Therefore, as long as I am still living I am still able to choose where I want to spend the rest of eternity.
I must of course not think I can delay and keep on delaying until it suites me.

There is also another Afrikaans saying:
“Van uitstel, kom afstel.” “From delay comes withdrawal (cancellation).”

The fact that I do not know when my life ends here on earth, my postponement can maybe end in eternal exclusion.

If a person thinks about it that the decision that I take or do not take, will ultimately be the difference between:

To die in hell the most terrible death and yet never die:

MAT 25:41  Then He will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels.

MARK 9:43  … It is better for you to enter life maimed than with two hands to go into hell, where the fire never goes out.
MARK 9:48  Where “‘the worms that eat them do not die, and the fire is not quenched.”

Or –  to be for eternity in heaven with our Lord!

MAT 25:34 “Then the king will say to those on his right, ‘come, you who are blessed by my father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world.”

REV 7:16  Never again will they hunger; Never again will they thirst. The sun will not beat down on them,’ nor any scorching heat.
REV 7:17  For the Lamb at the center of the throne will be their shepherd; ‘He will lead them to springs of living water.’ ‘And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.’”

Then I realize again that the person who chooses wrongly, or the person who procrastinates (delays), are busy play a life threatening, yes, an eternal life threatening game.

Yet the solution is so very simple!

HEB 3:7  So, as the Holy Spirit says: “Today, if you hear His voice,
HEB 3:8  do not harden your hearts …

Is the Holy Spirit maybe talking to you today where you are sitting reading this writing?

HEB 3:7  So, as the Holy Spirit says: “Today, if you hear His voice,
HEB 3:8  do not harden your hearts …

Take Jesus into your heart today as your Lord and Saviour and do not delay because you do not know if today will be your last opportunity.

Greetings,
Sakkie
